The Texas-Arlington "Mavericks" last played football in 1985 as a member of the Southland Conference. The team had played at the NCAA Division I level from 1970 through 1985, and in Division II from 1959 through 1969. The name of the school was Arlington State College prior to 1967, and the team nickname was "Rebels" prior to 1971.
